Valentine’s Day is just around the corner! However, the reality is no matter how romantic this day has the potential to be, it can also serve as a painful reminder of sexual dysfunction.
Wrongfully, many assume a mediocre and unfulfilling sex life is just part of the aging process, but that couldn’t be farther from the truth!
There are often underlying health issues at play (like hormonal imbalance, unmanaged anxiety, stress, etc.) that can be the root cause of sexual dysfunction and low libido.
Fluctuating libido is a natural part of life and can affect people of any age for many reasons. If you think the root cause of your declining libido may be hormones here are some of the basics you should familiarize yourself with.
Hormones and Your Sex Drive
Some factors, like communication and intimacy troubles, mismatched sexual connections, and even your stress at work, can impact your sex drive. But the major cause of sex drive issues come from imbalanced hormones.
Not sure if your hormones are to blame? Here are some symptoms to review:
- Unstable blood sugar
- Skin conditions, like eczema
- Feeling burned out or fatigued
- Mood swings
- Bloating
- Migraines
- Hair loss or thinning
- Decreased sweating
- Loss of confidence and agency
- Rogue hairs (particularly on face, chest, and arms)
If you find you can identify with any of the above, you should speak to a healthcare provider about the best way to move forward.

Get Your Sex Life Back on Track
Both men and women suffer from sexual health issues and, EVEXIAS offers natural approaches to rejuvenating sexual health.
Women, take the time to focus on finding balance. Our emotional wellbeing is closely linked to our sexual wellbeing:
- Are you stressed at work?
- Grappling with anxiety?
- Looking for more help?
EVEXIAS medical providers can guide you through a non-surgical and effective procedure. This procedure uses PRP derived from your own blood to rejuvenate your orgasm system by increasing blood flow to sexual organs.
Men, hitting the gym too hard could actually be lowering your testosterone and your libido. Find a new routine that is more balanced and see if that helps bring your libido back to where you want it.
If you want a natural approach, ask an EVEXIAS provider. This non-surgical procedure uses the patient’s own blood through PRP therapy to stimulate healing and increase circulation in the penis.
Liquid Gold: PRP Therapy
We at EVEXIAS Medical Centers are thrilled to have been featured in one of WFAA’s (ABC; Channel 8 in Dallas) series of ‘Original’ segments.
Liquid gold: How plasma is being used to heal, rejuvenate, with health reporter Sonia Azad, does a wonderful job explaining what exactly Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) is all about.
The segment shows the different ways PRP is being used and how it has helped two of our very own patients, Holli Jetsel and Deanna Murray.
Innovative Treatment
PRP therapy is an innovative treatment addressing various physical concerns by providing cellular rejuvenation. The treatment uses the patient’s own blood to stimulate stem cells and growth factors in the body. These steam cells create new tissue and help repair old, damaged tissue.
Doctors use PRP to treat:
- Wrinkles
- Acne
- Scars
- Rosacea
- Supports sexual health
- Hair regrowth
Testimonials
We chatted with Sonia regarding her thoughts on PRP treatments after she was treated at EVEXIAS Medical Centers.
“I had heard of the PRP procedure for several years and considered getting the treatment on my right knee after years of running marathons and wearing high heels – the pain finally caught up to me. I waited because I was skeptical… even after hearing other people’s testimonials and frankly, even after my own procedure.
“My recovery time was about one week total, and while I experienced swelling and some discomfort during that week, I can say that two months later, I am so happy that I decided to go ahead with PRP on my right knee.
“By early November, two months after my procedure, I ran a 10k, which is the longest distance I have been able to run pain-free since my last half marathon in 2014. There are some days when I feel like my right knee is still stiff, but overall, I would say it’s at 85% better than before. There is little to no pain when I walk up or down stairs wearing high heels, very few times I do experience pain when doing squats or lunges at the gym and no more pain when I bend my knees to launch into handstands in my yoga classes.
“I can only hope that the positive effects last and I am now considering going ahead with PRP in my left knee,” Sonia told us.
PRP Therapy in Her Knees
Holli, an Olympic weightlifter, had PRP therapy done in both of her knees. She didn’t see results immediately, but noticed gradual improvement over time and is back to squatting again. Deanna received PRP in both of her shoulders due to overuse in the gym.
She now:
- Feels even on both sides
- Can lift the same amount of weight
- Has the same range of motion thanks to PRP
Not Only for Women
EVEXIAS’ patient Richard Effirim has undergone PRP treatments for not one, but both of his knees after struggling with an injury for months.
Richard found the procedure painful only for a few hours and was up to full speed in no time. He recently got married and had no trouble busting his moves on the dance floor.
“My overall experience with PRP has been great,” Richard told us. “I no longer have swelling or pain in my knees, and I’m back to full strength training six days a week at the gym. I participate in boot camps and play multiple soccer games each weekend, and I actually played three games yesterday, and today, I feel great.”
